3-part series on Grace: Leadership | Mindset | Operations
Grace starts with you. When you accept yourself as not perfect and still worthy, then it is easy to extend the same goodwill to others.
You can hold yourself to a high standard, yet feel disappointment or shame when you make a mistake. Shame has a purpose. It’s a signal to correct your behavior.
The danger lies when you let shame take control of your life. Letting it dictate what you can and can’t do. Feeding it with negative self-talk. It robs you of the confidence and momentum needed to get back up. To get back up and move forward in your relationships and greater purpose.
Giving yourself grace acknowledges you did your best at the moment. It allows you to reflect on your shortcomings and create room to grow. Holding yourself accountable and calling you to do better.
Grace is a continuous practice. You can choose to stay in the storm or to give yourself grace. An umbrella to shelter you from the storm. To keep you dry while you learn, grow, and do better.
When you accept yourself as not perfect and still worthy, then it is easy to extend the same goodwill to others.
